Please, join me, Saturday, October 2nd for the late works of world renowned Spanish arteest (ha ha), Salvador Dali (one of my favorites!)
We will meet at 10am to enter the museum together. Taking our time, we will leisurely stroll the entire museum until 12:30, then head over for lunch together. (location to be announced)
Go ahead and get your tickets online now!!
There is also a film at the High Museum that evening, capturing the 'celebrity life' of Dali, for anyone that may be interested.
More details later-but for now, here is a little bit about the exhibit-
The High will be the sole venue for the first exhibition to focus on Dalí's art after 1940. The exhibition, featuring more than 40 paintings and a related group of drawings, prints and other Dalí ephemera, will explore the artist's enduring fascination with science, optical effects and illusionism, and his surprising connections to artists of the 1960s and 1970s such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Willem de Kooning.
It will be SO MUCH FUN to get into the head of this fascinating artist!
I suggest purchasing your tickets in advance, for a 10:30 entry time. If you purchase your ticket in advance, please indicate that you have done so in your RSVP.
I am so looking forward to this!!
UPDATE 09/27/10 WE WILL MEET AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE AT 10AM-IT IS HARD TO SOCIALIZE IN A MUSEUM SETTING, ALLOWING EVERYONE TO EXPLORE AT THEIR OWN PACE, SO WE WILL, FOR THOSE INTERESTED, HEAD OVER TO THE HUDSON GRILLE (free valet parking) AFTER OUR MUSEUM EXPERIENCE, WHERE WE WILL HAVE THE TIME TO GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER AND DISCUSS THE WORKS OF DALI. PLEASE INDICATE IN YOUR RSVP WHETHER YOU PLAN TO GO TO HUDSON GRILLE WITH THE GROUP.
You can also get in free if you have a Bank of America credit card or debit card, since this is the first full weekend of the month.
Please accept my apology for not changing my RSVP prior to event. An unexpected real emergency occured and I didn't think of it, I should have, but didn't and I apologize. Sincerely, Suzz
P.S. This date is the "Fulton Free Saturday" for October. If you have driver's license or current utility bill (and ID) showing that you live in Fulton County you can get in for free.
