I know it's early but how about bringing in the NEW YEAR OF 2012 in right by watching the first SUNRISE of the year on top of STONE MOUNTAIN.  Then, we'll go grab BREAKFAST at Thumbs Up Diner in Decatur.

It's about a 30-minute hike up so we'll start at 7:00am prompt.

Bring a flashlight, blanket, warm jacket, thermos of hot chocolate, tea, apple cider, or coffee. And don't forget your camera! We may have to huddle like Musk Oxen or Emperor Penguins to stay warm!

Sunrise is approx. 7:42am 

I'd rather get there early instead of missing the sunrise since that is the point of our hike.

We'll meet in the parking lot of the Confederate Hall Outdoor Venue by the restrooms.

There is an entrance fee of $10.00 per car so you may want to carpool. This event will be canceled if it is raining.

I am implementing a $3.50 fee as I do not want to be the only one who shows-up at 6:45am. This fee is non-refundable unless you cancel 24 hours in advance. If not, no refund or credits. So please only sign up for this event if you really plan to go. Thanks. Obviously, you will be refunded the fee if it is raining and the event is canceled.
