2010 India Run For Hope

A little bit of money goes a long way to fight cancer in India...

Because nearly everyone has been touched by cancer in some way, Sky's The Limit Travel and Social Club has decided to show our support again and make a difference by contributing to the American Cancer Society’s 2010 India Run For Hope. Using the links on the bottom of this page, you can join our fight against cancer.


What is India Run for Hope?

The India Cancer Initiative is working with Indian health care professionals, community health leaders, and government officials to respond to the rising cancer burden in India. Through their comprehensive cancer control program, they are:

• Building capacity in the health care system and civil society to fight cancer at the community, state, and national level
  
• Partnering with health professionals to increase awareness around cancer early detection
  
• Increasing access to quality cancer information
  
• Improving the quality of life for cancer patients and survivors
  
• Informing Indian journalists about this growing health crisis
  
• Reducing tobacco use
  

Your small contribution - running or donating - can make a HUGE impact.

For example: One $5,000 ACS seed grant matched by the Saktipada Das Memorial Foundation paid for screening for over 4,700 women in rural India. It also resolved 23 suspicious screenings and paid for treatment of two cancers. A little money goes a long way to save lives in India.

The goal of the India Cancer Initiative Run is to raise awareness about how to save lives from cancer in the US and India and to fund more seed grants in India.
